Cyrus Khambatta, PhD, is an internationally recognized nutrition and fitness coach who has been living with type 1 diabetes since 2002. Using an evidence-based approach to nutrition and fitness, he first reduced his own insulin usage by more than 40%, and has educated thousands of people with all forms of diabetes how to reverse insulin resistance using diet and exercise. Cyrus earned a Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering from Stanford University in 2003, then earned a PhD in Nutritional Biochemistry from the University of California at Berkeley in 2012. Robby Barbaro is diabetes coach and educator who has been living with type 1 diabetes for over 19 years and following a low-fat, plant-based, whole-food diet for over 12 years. Using the same evidence-based approach as Cyrus, Robby saw his insulin sensitivity improve by 700%. Robby graduated from the University of Florida in 2011. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree in public health (MPH) from American Public University. Robby worked at Forks Over Knives for 6 years before turning his attention to Mastering Diabetes full time. Robby has an inspiring Instagram account, called “MindfulDiabeticRobby” where he shares his lifestyle through pictures, recipe and documents his daily diet on Instagram Stories.
